Macy’s Roseville donates thousands of prom dresses to area nonprofits
As the novel coronavirus pandemic hit, events like proms were canceled – and stores like Macy's Roseville ended up with a lot of extra dresses. Now, the store is putting them to good use. Thousands and thousands of dresses and youth dress wear were donated by Macy's Roseville to support nonprofits in the greater Sacramento area that serve cancer patients. Many nonprofits haven't been able to raise as much money during the pandemic. Triumph Cancer Foundation and Dignity Health Cancer Institute of Greater Sacramento's Angel Fund will be selling these dresses for $50 to $100 at pop-up events and online. Dresses they don't sell will be donated to other nonprofits like Cinderella's Closet. Get the full story in the video above.
