Video shows first 12 hours of firefighters battling the Creek Fire

The Merced Fire Department released new, eerie video documenting the first 12-hours of the Creek Fire burning in the Sierra National Forest. In the video, you can see the firefighters’ point of view driving through a dangerous lowing street lined with homes. The fire department posted the video on Facebook with a message from first responders that read: “It is hard for our firefighters to put into words what their feelings are sometimes. They work hard and right to the edge of danger, at times they are able to save homes and other times they are overran. It breaks their hearts when the fire wins.” The flames from the Creek Fire have charred more than 220,000 acres and is 18% contained.
