DUNCAN – Accomplishments in the past year were highlighted at the Hancock County Economic Development Corp. annual meeting held April 12 at Duncan.

Debi Durham, Iowa Economic Development Authority director was the guest speaker. Durham discussed challenges facing Iowa business and industry.

Iowa’s unemployment rate is about 3 percent. Labor force participation rate is 67.2 percent, according February 2024 Iowa Workforce Development statistics.

Durham noted that Iowa always has a lower unemployment rate than the national, “because Iowans work.”
