WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Images Cinema presents their inaugural Earth Week Film Festival from Friday, April 19 through Thursday, April 25.

An expansion of the long-standing Fresh Fest: A Food and Farming Film Festival, which usually ran one weekend, the Earth Week Film Festival will run a full week and engage in a variety of topics that range from regenerative agriculture, the plastic pollution, and metal extraction from the ocean floor. The festival includes 10 films, 13 screenings, seven with discussions with experts in their field, local farmers, activists, and more. Earth Week Film Festival is sponsored by the Williams College Office of the President, The Green Pastures Fund, Williams College Center for Environmental Studies, Berkshire Bank, Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives, Storey Publishing/Hachette Book Group, Berkshire Environmental Consultants, the Williams Inn, Cricket Creek Farm, and Wild Oats Market.

Thanks to the generosity of the underwriters, all Earth Week Film Festival screenings and events are free to the community. Advance tickets are available and recommended.

The opening night film Common Ground is presented by the Green Pastures Fund on April 19 at 7 p.m., followed by a panel conversation between Gabe Brown, co-founder of Understanding Ag, Hana' Maaiah of Soul Fire Farm, and Morgan Hartman of Understanding Ag. The conversation will be moderated by Sarah Gardner of the Center for Environmental Studies at Williams College. The film explains how regenerative agriculture, which uses indigenous farming methods, helps reduce carbon in the atmosphere. The film is preceded by a reception at 6 p.m.

In addition to these special guests, the festival will also welcome representatives of Bee Friendly Williamstown, the World Wildlife Fund, Vbike, and Beyond Plastics.
