Buffalo might be looking at its next big restaurant venture. After opening their original location on Elmwood Avenue, Cluck Cluck Moo Moo owners Nick Kotrides and Michael Bowen wasted no time in finding their next golden opportunity. They chose to nestle into Marco’s Italian Deli’s former location at 1518 Hertel Avenue, which is primely located at the corner of Hertel and Wellington.

After finding great success on Elmwood, with their no frills smashburger (and friends) formula, Kotrides and Bowen opted to try out a second spot that would appeal to North Buffalo’s family-friendly environment. This is readily apparent, as the enhanced menu now boasts a junior smashburger.

In recent months, the streamlined menu at Cluck Cluck Moo Moo has become a bit more rounded out, with the addition of a pork chop sandwich, referred to as ‘The Oink.’ There’s also The Moother Clucker, which features a beef patty and a chicken breast. Oh, and the latest addition to the menu line-up is the Monster Smash, with three beef patties, for those who feel that two beef patties is just not enough.These tweaks to the menu are aligned with the owners’ original vision for the restaurant, which was based on delicious food, made with top grade ingredients, and prepared to travel well.

“We wanted a second city location before we opened a location outside the city limits,” said Kotrides. “Our play was always for multiple locations. We wanted to open two locations in the city, because we have always had the city’s best interest at heart. Elmwood was a natural spot for us. North Buffalo was always on our radar too. Now we’re looking at surrounding areas. We’ve identified a location in the Northtowns that we are actively pursuing.”

While the Elmwood location has a handful of bar stools along the window, it’s primary function is to service a take-out clientele. The new Hertel location is similar in that regard, although there is more window seating due to the window-laden corner location.

There’s is no doubt that Kotrides and Bowen have a huge hit on their hands, as they forge ahead with their plans to build a network of Cluck Cluck Moo Moos around WNY. While there are gand plans for WNY, it will be interesting to see how long it will be, before they spread their wings even further, as they continue to brand their way toward the greenest pastures that they can find.
