Sao Paulo, Brazil - September 11, 2024 The ongoing wildfires in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo have severely impacted local residents, leading to health complications and significant economic losses as fires continue to rage in multiple cities. According to local authorities, the wildfires have affected 318 cities across the southeastern state, with active fires still burning in 12 cities. Damage has reached an estimated 2 billion reais (about 350 million U.S. dollars). In the state's Osasco Municipality, firefighters and helicopters have been racing against time to control the large wildfires and curb the impacts on residents' health and daily life.
