It’s been a month since 50-year-old David Westbrook was killed in a shooting in Birmingham. During the night of May 23rd just before 11:00 o’clock, Birmingham police detectives say Westbrook took his dog for a walk at a soccer field near the 100 block of 54th Street North. Investigators say after walking his dog, Westbrook was approached by a man while sitting inside his car. He was then shot trying to back out of his parking space. Birmingham police found Westbrook suffering from a gunshot wound inside of his vehicle that hit a utility pole. He died at the scene. Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama is offering a reward of up to $8,000 for information that could help solve Westbrook's case.
