Martin Cordova: 1956 – 2024

Martin Cordova, (67) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 67. He was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. Martin’s life will be celebrated and honored during a Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral on April 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm.

He was born on May 31, 1956, to his loving parents, Rose and Tony Cordova. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Anthony; sisters: Claudia, Barbara, Lucille, Marie, Theresa; and a grandchild named Leandro.

Martin leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through his children: Mario, Amanda (and Tarcisio), Alexis (and Krystal); sisters, Rita and Monica; brothers, Dennis and Stephen; as well as his ten cherished grandchildren: Francisco, Xavier, Amiya, Avisiana, Alicia, Katana, Emma, Adam, Ilyena, and Ozias.

Martin was known as being an excellent teacher to his grandchildren who all described him as a very loving man. His passion for music was evident, he especially loved classic rock and R&B. His grandchildren even got him interested in some rap/hip hop music. His grandchildren remember him as a kind-hearted individual who imparted valuable life lessons to them – showcasing his unwavering support in their endeavors. Martin took immense pride in his family. Aside from music interests he enjoyed gaming activities along with football, gaming, MMA fights, and fishing.

Martin had an infectious sense of humor that brought joy to those around him; a witty and charming personality that will be dearly missed by his family members, friends, and neighbors. His loss leaves eternal gap in their hearts.

The mass to honor Martin Cordova’s life will take place at St. Mary’s Cathedral on April 17, where friends, and family members, and neighbors will gather to commemorate the remarkable life he lived and the memories he created with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Timothy R. Holland Sr.: 1942 – 2024

Timothy R. Holland Sr., a dedicated veteran, passed away on April 7, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born on February 19, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Timothy led a life filled with courage, and honor. His dedication to serving his country was evident through his service in both the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. Timothy’s commitment to protecting his nation and upholding its values is a testament to his strength of character and selflessness to his beloved country.

In addition to his military service, his kindness and compassion knew no bounds, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Timothy’s legacy of generosity and warmth will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.

Timothy R. Holland Sr. will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His impact on those around him will endure as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived. May he rest in peace knowing that his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

George Wilbert Krouse: 1937 – 2024

George Wilbert Krouse, born on March 15, 1937, passed away on April 9, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

George’s life will be celebrated and honored at a Memorial Service on April 18, 2024, starting at 12:30 p.m. at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, located at 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82001. Following the memorial service, a graveside service will take place at Cheyenne National Cemetery on 8611 Hildreth Road at 2:00 p.m.

Donald Clark Lacy: 1937 – 2024

Donald Clark Lacy, age 86, of Cheyenne died April 11, 2024 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.

He was born June 4, 1937, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Roy Lowell and Anna Elizabeth (Bess Lathrop) Lacy.

Mr. Lacy attended elementary and secondary public schools in Lander, Wyoming, graduating from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1955. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Wyoming in 1959, and a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Kansas in 1964.

Mr. Lacy married M. Carol Weidensaul on June 10, 1961, in Lawrence, Kansas, and three daughters were born from that union. Clark and Carol were divorced in May 1984. On December 7, 2006, Clark married Lajuana June (Johnston) Eckard in Cheyenne.

Mr. Lacy first taught social science at Big Piney (Wyoming) High School, and later taught both social and behavioral sciences at Cheyenne County High School in Saint Francis, Kansas. He was also the assistant wrestling coach at “Sainty.” From 1967-1973, he taught behavioral sciences at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming, and was the assistant basketball coach there. Clark finished his professional career at Laramie County Community College, Cheyenne, at which he taught Anthropology and Sociology for 25 years, retiring in 1998. (Editorial note: Clark’s family members often witnessed or heard from his former students that he was well-loved as a teacher throughout his career, and that made us very happy). Clark held membership in several professional organizations and was an active member in the First United Methodist Church until health issues slowed him down.

Mr. Lacy is survived by his wife, Lajuana; and eldest daughter, Jenifer (Andrew) Dimit, all of Cheyenne; his daughter, Michelle (Chris) Reedy; granddaughter, Hagen; and great-grandson, E.W. all of Granbury, Texas; his daughter, Cindy Lacy and grandson Joseph of Arvada, Colorado; his bonus daughter, Johnna (Ken) Eckard-Judd of Phoenix; his grandson, Tynan LeMaitre of Casper; and his grandson, Heath (Stephanie) Reedy of Modesto, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bess Lacy.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is yet to be determined.

The family encourages any memorial contributions to be made to Davis Hospice Center of Cheyenne.

Carolyn Myers: 1950 – 2024

Carolyn Sue Myers, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away April 12, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 73. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She had a love for, and collected, elephants. These majestic creatures were a reminder and represented qualities she wished to cultivate within herself – strength, wisdom, loyalty, patience, and kindness. She was creative and loved crafting. She loved to watch YouTube videos and taught herself new skills. That creativity extended to her house. She often said she had champagne tastes on a beer budget. She would use her crafting skills to make her house a palace. She had a larger-than-life personality and was always the life of the party. As she came screeching and sliding in at the end of her life she decided to be baptized…..just in case.

Carolyn was preceded in life by her parents, James William and Ruby Geraldine (Nelson) Myers. She is survived by her siblings: Kathleen Myers, Jamie Dean, James Myers, II, John Myers, Julie Drum (Tommy) and Michael Myers. She is preceded in life by her eldest son, Kenneth Myers; and survived by her son, Gerald Myers (Tiffany Krout) and daughter Jennifer DeFer (Joe). She is survived by 10 grandchildren: Jessica Sokol (Andy), Daniel DeFer (Destiny), Rebecca DeFer, Megan DeFer, Tyler Myers, Andrea Barnes, Devan Barnes, Bryce Barnes, Morgan Myers, and Cailey Cordray. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren: Erica DeFer, Skylan Bechtold, Lupen, Zane DeFer, Killian Barnes, Azlan Walker and Chace DeFer.

There will be a memorial service honoring Carlyon’s memory April 14, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at the Agape Batist Church (210 E 20^th Street) in Cheyenne.
