Taylor Swift 'Wasn't Happy' About Being Dragged Into 'It Ends With Us' Drama Case
Blake Lively’s ongoing legal drama with It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni has had a ripple effect in her personal life. A source exclusively shared in the latest issue of Us Weekly that the Gossip Girl’s pal Taylor Swift “wasn’t happy with being brought into the legal mess.” Months after rumors swirled of a rift on the set of It Ends With Us, Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit in December 2024 accusing Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment. Baldoni denied the allegations at the time. He went on to sue Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, as well as her publicist, Leslie Sloane, in January for $400 million. Sloane has since filed to be removed from the lawsuit while Lively and Reynolds, 48, have denied Baldoni’s accusations. The trial is scheduled to begin in 2026. Baldoni appeared to reference Swift, 35, in a text message about Lively’s adjustments to the now-infamous rooftop scene in It Ends With Us included in his January filing. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor),” Baldoni’s texts read alongside a winking face emoji. “You really are a talent across the board. Really excited nd [sic] grateful to do this together.” In Lively’s alleged response, she replied, “That’s very appreciated. And means a lot. I’m deeply inspired by the films and we’re gonna make outside of the success of the book. We have such an opportunity to not surprise people who love the book but reach an even bigger audience by making an undeniably dynamic and also commercial film.” Baldoni later referenced an unnamed “megacelebrity,” who is believed to be Swift, when Lively was allegedly upset that he wasn’t going to make her tweaks to the scene. Lively’s alleged message read, “Of course, didn’t feel great for me. Or [another megacelebrity friend and Ryan Reynolds]. To have my passion praised instead of my specific contribution.” Taylor Swift Had 'No Creative Involvement' in 'It Ends With Us': Sources While the insider noted that Swift does not want to be part of the case, a separate source told Us in January that the two women are still friends. “There’s no truth that this has hurt their relationship,” an insider close to the pair exclusively told Us. “They are still close friends.”
