The act has sparked anger among Muslims across the world, who don't believe that "freedom of expression" means offending the beliefs of a certain group. Protests have been reported predominantly from Muslim countries to denounce the recent desecration of Islam’s holy book by far-right extremists in Sweden and the Netherlands. Soon after the Friday prayers in Srinagar in Kashmir India, a group of people led by a local Islamic cleric said that their sentiments are hurt after their religious book was desecrated by some miscreants in Sweden and that they demand severe punishment for those involved in the act. “We want to convey it to the Sweden government that we are fully aware and came here to register our protest against the act done by miscreants”, protesters said.
