India: Fear sparks among residents as mystery woman rings bells at midnight, police step up patrolling
Gwalior, India - March 20, 2025 Fear has gripped in Rajamandi locality as residents report a mysterious woman ringing doorbells late at night before disappearing. The unexplained incidents have left people anxious, with many unsure of her intentions or the reason behind these eerie midnight visits. The incident occurred in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Central India, on March 20. The visuals capture an empty lane where a woman dressed in white and face covered is seen walking alone. Moments later, she pauses in front of a house, approaches the entrance in the dead of night, rings the doorbell, and then moves on to the next house to repeat the action before disappearing. In another visual, animals are seen fleeing at the sight of her. According to media reports, incidents have been reported from Raja Mandi and Sona Garden, where CCTV footage captured a mysterious woman ringing doorbells at midnight and walking away without responding. Dressed in a salwar-kameez with her face concealed by a long dupatta, her presence deepens the mystery. Some residents claim that she did not react when called from inside but continued moving forward, ringing bells at different houses. Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma stated that while no formal complaints have been filed, the station in charge has been instructed to increase patrolling. He added that the police are monitoring the situation to gather more information about the woman. While some believe it may be a harmless prank, others suspect something more unsettling. Authorities have assured residents that they will investigate thoroughly to dispel fears and uncover the truth. CCTV footage shows her with a covered face, sparking fear as even animals are seen fleeing at her presence. This isn’t the first time such incidents have occurred in the area. A few years ago, a similar complaint was lodged when a woman claimed she was searching for a house.
