Los Angeles, United States - April 26, 2025 04/26/2025 01:00 am (GMT-0700) ATHENS, Calif. – California Highway Patrol West Los Angeles units initiated a pursuit of a silver Toyota sedan on West Imperial Highway. Officers pursued the suspect for an extended period. During the chase, the suspect called the CHP and informed them he would not stop for officers. After hanging up, he called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and stated he would drive to their station to surrender. The suspect arrived at the LASD South Los Angeles station, where he was taken into custody. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed a rifle, a pistol, and narcotics. The individual identified himself as a sovereign citizen and claimed that the CHP was kidnapping him.
