Why Are Planets Round?

Every single planet in the universe is round. Not every planet in the universe has been discovered, yet in order for an object to be defined as a planet, one of the criteria is that it must be spherical. By definition, every planet must be round. However, why are planets round and not any other shape? What causes every planet to become spherical?
