Who Were The Mayans?

The Mayans were an advanced Mesoamerican civilization that flourished in what is now Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador from around 2000 BCE to the 16th century CE. They are renowned for their achievements in mathematics, astronomy, and writing, including the development of a sophisticated hieroglyphic script.
