According to the United Nations, the global average life expectancy is 72.6 years. Over the years, most countries have achieved improved health care systems, leading to an increase in average life expectancy. 32 countries have a life expectancy of at least 80 years, most of which are European countries. Monaco, a city-state and microstate along the French Riviera in Western Europe, has the highest life expectancy of 89.4 years.
