7 Summits: The World’s Highest Mountains by Continent
Almost 30 years ago, Dick Bass and Franck Wells conceived the idea of the 7 Summits. This Challenge consists of climbing the highest mountain of each of the 7 continents. Dick Bass was the first one to succeed this challenge in 1985. It has become a goal for climbers around the world and around 500 people have met the goal as of 2020. Mountaineers can agree that climbing the Seven Summits, the highest peaks of each of the world’s continents, is among the supreme accomplishments of their sport.
