High clouds increase Wednesday. Highs mostly low 60s. Rain chances begin to go up Thursday mainly evening and then off and on into Sunday. Models updated indicating rain for the South Shore Friday afternoon into the evening. Rain is likely Saturday. There is a low risk for locally heavy rain.
WDSU4:2019 hours agoFreeze warning tonightWDSUIt's a WDSU Weather Impact Day for the Freeze Warning posted overnight for the Northshore and South Mississippi. Lows will be near 30-34. Protect plants, pets and people. Some areas may not freeze there, but with light wind and clear skies frost will develop. Frost possible some areas of South Shore from near Belle Chasse to Houma to the River Parishes. This will be something to monitor. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy Wednesday. Highs low to mid 60s. Warmer weather Thursday into Sunday. Rain chances go up. It will not be an all day rain, but we will have periods of rain. Locally heavy rain is possible Thursday into Sunday. GFS Model indicates about 2" of rain during the time. Saturday right now does look like the rainiest day. We are close to 28" of rain below average for the year.
