Would You Watch a Pay-Per-View Super Bowl?

Former ESPN president John Skipper believes the NFL could eventually make the Super Bowl a pay-per-view event to make up for lost ad revenue. It won't happen anytime soon as the league agreed to extend its broadcasting deals with NBC, CBS, Fox, ESPN and Amazon through 2033. However, the comment highlights how streaming has created new options and clouded the industry's future. Despite losing a million viewers year-over-year, the NFL still claimed 69 of the 100 most-watched TV broadcasts of 2020.
