The Chicago Cubs' Fire Sale Is Complete

Just a handful of players remain from the Chicago Cubs' 2016 World Series title team after the franchise completed a flurry of deals at the MLB trade deadline Friday. The Cubs traded away one-third of their opening day roster including stars Anthony Rizzo (to the Yankees), Javier Baez (to the Mets), Craig Kimbrel (to the White Sox), and Kris Bryant (to the Giants). The exodus marks the end of a competitive era for the team that famously went 109 years between World Series championships.
