Remembering John Feinstein: Legendary Sports Journalist

John Feinstein, never one to back down, once told an editor he was going to kill him. When his boss asked if it was true, Feinstein responded yes. The editor shrugged and said, “Just checking.” His first book, “A Season on the Brink,” profiled Bobby Knight’s 1985-86 Indiana Hoosiers. The coach hated it. The book sold over two million copies. Feinstein died Thursday at age 69, hours after his last column went live. Read about his work, life, and kindness that changed a young sportswriter’s life.
