Kentucky Derby: A Day for Horses and Hats

The sport of horse racing has declined in popularity in the past decade despite having two Triple Crown winners. The deaths of 23 horses in the past six months at Santa Anita Park has cast an even darker pall over the sport of kings. Saturday is the 145th edition of the Run for the Roses and another dark cloud has emerged; the favorite, Omaha Beach, was scratched because of a medical condition. Of the remaining 19 horses scheduled to run, one is named Improbable. Place your bets.
