CNN: Joel Greenberg, an associate of Gaetz might take a plea deal. Greenberg would likely have to share info on Gaetz.
It's A Bad Day To Be Matt Gaetz
Joel Greenberg is a close friend and associate of Rep. Matt Gaetz. He is expected to take a plea deal with federal prosecutors in his own sex trafficking case. Greenberg's attorney Fritz Scheller spoke to press today — and let's just say, it was NOT good for Gaetz's case.
Greenberg Strikes Plea Deal
Today, CNN reported that Gaetz's close friend and associate Joel Greenberg — who faces an array of federal charges, including a sex trafficking count — is expected to plead guilty "in the coming weeks."
His Lawyer Takes the Stage
Enter: Joel Greenberg's attorney, Fritz Scheller, who looks sorta like The Dude. Outside the Florida courthouse, a reporter asked him if Rep. Gaetz has anything to worry about. After attempting to dodge the question — his words, not ours — Scheller finally says, "I am sure Matt Gaetz is not feeling very comfortable today." 👀
Atty. for Rep. Gaetz (R-FL) associate expected to take plea in sex trafficking case: Gaetz isn't feeling "comfortable."
And Does Not Disappoint...
Fritz Scheller is clearly a character, to say the least. A reporter asks: "Did your client introduce Matt Gaetz to any underaged girls for sexual relations?" And the attorney, once again (self-admittedly) dodges the question and adds, "That was a little devious!"
Fritz Scheller, attorney for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) associate Joel Greenberg, is asked about Gaetz and underaged girls.
... He Just Keeps Going
Amazingly, Fritz Scheller was not done yet. He calls Rep. Gaetz a “potential co-defendant” and says “I preclude my clients from talking to them.” Now how's that for candor?
