The Jan. 6 committee revealed that people who chose to enter the enclosed area for former President Donald Trump's speech were screened and found to have weapons. Others elected to not be screened. Cassidy Hutchinson testified that Trump and Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were told this, but Trump wanted his supporters to be let in anyway, saying "They're not here to hurt me.” Meadows’s response: “All right, anything else?”

Trump Rages Out
Hutchinson told the Jan. 6 committee that a Secret Service agent informed her the former president wanted to go to the Capitol so badly on that day that he lunged to grab the steering wheel of the vehicle and then put his hands on an agent when they took him back to the White House. In a separate anger incident, according to Hutchinson, Trump took his frustration out on his lunch when former Attorney General Bill Barr didn’t back his Big Lie in an interview.
