More Migrants Trying to Enter U.S.

The number of attempted border crossings by people from Central America and Mexico has steadily increased during the last year, according to the U.S. government. “We are on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years,” said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Most single adults and families are turned away, the government says, but not minors traveling alone.
