Harvesting Marigolds: Day of the Dead Preparations in Mexico

Dia de los Muertos arrives on November 2nd and preparations are in full swing as families and individuals look to pay tribute to the departed. The tradition includes creating alters to welcome the spirits back, decorating them with photos, treats, pan de muerto, colorful Papel de Picado, candles, sugar skulls, incense and lots of Cempasuchitl (marigolds) that represent the fragility of life.
