Two Years of COVID School Chaos

Two years ago, districts in 27 states, encompassing almost 80,000 schools, closed their doors for what would be the longest lockdown in memory. With education turned upside down, lessons went virtual, garages became classrooms, teachers and parents scrambled to balance student health protocols against social isolation, and kids adapted to learning, living and graduating in the most surreal circumstances. Today, The 74 takes a look back at the dizzying sequence of events of the last 24 months.
