In August 2022, the National Retail Federation named Harbor Freight the fastest-growing retailer in the U.S. It was with good reason, too, as after opening its 500th store in 2013, the chain's footprint exploded in the next decade, to the point where it has over 1,400 stores in the United States as of this writing.
