30 Unforgettable Summer Road Trips On 7 Continents
I love variety and there is no travel experience that offers more than a road trip. Touch down at the airport and hop in a car (or hire a driver) or simply back out of your garage and set off to explore the nooks and crannies that make a place special, from the lakes of Chilean Patagonia to a cable car ride to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. Here are my top picks to inspire your next summer road trip across all seven continents!
1. Europe
I was born in the U.S., but I've lived in Europe (Dublin, Ireland and now Lisbon, Portugal) for over 13 years. Let's take that most American of vacations, the summer road trip, across the pond for a European holiday. Note: it's very helpful if you can drive a stick shift (manual transmission) when going on a road trip in Europe.
2. North America
There is no better place to embark on a road trip than the wide open spaces of the United States. That said, The North American continent is so much more than just the USA. In this section, I explore the full breadth of road trips that you'll find in North America.
