My SECOND attempt at a double with 130kg(286lbs)! Misses are a reality of training of course, but are they really such a bad thing....well at least a few of them here and there? Most athletes allow them to lead to frustration, reinforcement against the ideal movement you're working for, going above and beyond intended workload/reps, overall working themselves backward with an unknown number of attempts at a weight that just seems SO close! This is so easy to fall into so I like to follow a 2-miss rule which just means if you miss 2 times total in a workout within 1 movement, even if it's not a max day, then do a down set or 2 at a weight you'll for sure make with quality and wrap up the day with success! Also try to look at misses in a different way. Laugh it off, learn from it, survive to come back and fight another day, leave with that extra hunger to try again the next opp you have! With these misses I wanted so bad to try again, I just KNOW I could have made it! I held back, and with the fact that this was only 5kg under my best double ever, now I'm on fire! A little taste to add extra thirst for improvement that has been such a long time coming and I now know more than ever I'm capable of!
