Denied No Longer: Trailblazing Pilot Wally Funk Will Go to Space With Jeff Bezos

She was part of the Mercury 13 crew, a group of women looking to prove they could become astronauts. Wally Funk and 12 others passed all the tests only to have the program shut down and be told women didn't belong in space. Now, 60 years later, this octogenarian will fulfill a lifelong dream and become the oldest person to fly in space when she joins Jeff Bezos on the first crewed Blue Origin flight.
