As travel rebounds, the pressure is on for airlines to cut greenhouse gas emissions, and floated solutions range from switching to sustainable fuels and optimizing flight routes to buying carbon offsets. But as you'll see below, not all greenification efforts hold water. Experts say airlines must do more than simply paying someone else to clean up their mess.
