A New Standard for Naming COVID-19 Variants

The World Health Organization has unveiled a new nomenclature for coronavirus variants that uses the Greek alphabet. The goal is to make it easier to identify these strains instead of using numbers and hopefully prevent countries where these variants are discovered from being stigmatized.
