Christie’s is honored to present A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection during its Fall Photographs season. This rich and nuanced collection of photographs ranging from Anna Atkins and Julia Margaret Cameron to Nan Goldin and William Eggleston will be open for bidding online from 19 September through 3 October. Highlights include several cyanotypes by Atkins; vintage prints by leading 20th century artists including Brassaï, August Sander and Man Ray; as well as a substantial group of Nan Goldin images, including some rarely seen early images.

Christie’s is proud to offer our fall Photographs auction in New York from 19 September through 4 October. Among the prestigious collections that will be featured are photographs from Depth Of Field: The Alan And Dorothy Press Collection. Highlights of the sale will include a unique photogram by Lazlo Moholy-Nagy; an early, unique Rayograph by Man Ray; as well as a print of one of Robert Frank’s most celebrated images, New Orleans, 1955. Also included is a rare exhibition print of Stieglitz’s A Venetian Courtyard, in platinum, from the 1899 Philadelphia Salon. As market leaders of the category, Christie’s fall Photographs auction will offer opportunities for every type of collector to acquire a photograph of the highest quality and historical significance.
New York will welcome a new photography fair this week, as the city’s first edition of Photofairs will be held Sept. 8-10, with a VIP preview on Sept. 7, at the Javits Center in Manhattan.
