The Future of Cities

A century ago, fewer than 15% of humanity lived in anything approximating a city. Now more than half of us do, a shift that presents new problems and opportunities. We’ll watch how people flow through their built environments, how transportation evolves—high-speed rail, smart parking, self-driving cars—and how the sharing economy, built to support city life, ultimately shapes it. It’s safe to say that the quality of human life in the future will be determined by the quality of our cities.
