What the new iPhone 15 Pro means for photography

The top of the line iPhone is finally a real "pro" camera, with a new robust telephoto zoom, and more importantly, the ability to use the new USB-C charging port for connecting directly to a compact solid state drive or thumb drive, and recording high-resolution ProRes video directly to an SD card or a drive. Additionally, filmmakers can now grade and fine-tune their mobile phone footage, just like they do on their big cameras. Real why so many tech journalists and filmmakers are so excited.

I would never have said those words three years ago. Let me show you something. I took these pictures with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Even when I pixel peep, these are still impressive, clean images with very little post-processing required. In any kind of personal setting, this is exactly what I’m looking for: low-effort, high-quality images. But no, professional cameras are not dead. I still can’t shoot razor-sharp 50 megapixel images on my iPhone without pixel-binning. I still can’t shoot slow-motion 4K at 120 FPS like this on an iPhone. If you’ve been watching me or this YouTube channel for any extended length of time, you’ll know that I’m a strong proponent of adopting new technologies and leveraging them to monetize your work. Augmenting the existing work that I already do with the iPhone puts me at a huge advantage when compared to other content creators. There’s no reason you can’t do the same thing! -- ** CHAPTERS ** 0:00 - Introduction 0:56 - Portrait Mode 1:51 - Cinematic Mode 2:41 - Ultra-Wide Lens 3:34 - Telephoto Lens 4:18 - Standard Lens 5:39 - Conclusions -- ** TAGS ** iPhone 15 Pro & Pro Max Review for Photographers!, iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Review!, iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max FULL REVIEW [Shot on iPhone], The First Phone That Could Replace My Camera | iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Filmmaker’s Review of the “7” Cameras, My iPhone 15 / Pro / Max Review, iPhone 15 Pro Max VS.
