Wanna get into tempo training? Here's your decoder. If your program says Split Squat: 3x5; 3-2-0, you do 3 sets of 5 reps (3x5), performing each rep at the following tempo. The first digit (3) indicates the duration of the lift's lowering phase in seconds. The middle number (2) tells you how long you should hold the bottom portion of the lift. The final number (0) indicates how long the final lifting phase should take. A zero or X means you should quickly power back to the start. (📷: @jeanyveslemoigne)

This new spin on planking from @ebenezersamuel23 will completely carve up your core. This routine starts in the plank position, and forces you to train all the muscles that hold you in balance during a plank. By adding small movements, it challenges your core even more, forcing it to compensate and adjust to changing balance requirements. Perform the exercises in order listed below. 1a. Plank with plate push-pulls, 10 reps per arm 1b. Plank with leg raise, 10 reps per leg 1c. Plank, 1 minute. Rest 10 seconds. 2a. Iron-cross plank, 20 seconds Rest 90 seconds. That's one set.
