Everything we know so far about the Ralph Yarl shooting
Ralph Yarl was shot after his parents asked him to pick up his two younger siblings and he went to the wrong home in Kansas City, Missouri. Officials have vowed a speedy investigation, but several questions still loom in the days since Yarl was shot.
James Lynch said his Eagle Scout training kicked in and he checked the teen's pulse and tried to stanch the blood in a neighbor's driveway before paramedics arrived.
"He was confronted by a man who told him, ‘Don’t come back around here,’” and then the man “immediately fired his weapon," attorney Lee Merritt said.
Ralph Paul Yarl, the 16-year-old who was shot after mistakenly ringing the wrong doorbell, is a “gentle soul” and gifted student who wants to study chemical engineering in college, his former teacher said.
The attorneys say the shooter is white and should not have been released. The Kansas City police chief says a 24-hour hold is the maximum without charges in a felony case.
