  • In the framework of Quantum Information and Quantum Computation, Quantum Entanglement is viewed as THE fundamental resource

for quantum information processing. In order to get familiar with this "spooky" (as Einstein called it) quantum non-

locality I plan to write a series of articles introducing the concept of Quantum Entanglement, and this is the second one:

Entanglement (II): Non-locality, Hidden Variables and Bell’s Inequalities.

  • In May 1935, Albert Einstein and two of his postdoctoral research associates Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen published a paper with a thought experiment that was meant to prove that Quantum Mechanics showed internal contradictions in it’s formulation. If one wishes to study Quantum Information and Quantum Computation, one has to become familiar with the notion of quantum entanglement. And this paper was to first put the spotlight on quantum entangled states.
