Mist by a Smile!
This snap was taken locally on a recent misty morning. Sunrise had long since come and gone but the sun, or at least what I could see of it from my lounge, was looking really unusual through the mist, more like a huge moon. This was what prompted yet another frantic race down to the local harbour in an attempt to capture it. Needless to say it wasn’t like that by the time I got there, but the general ambiance was still promising. The one big issue for me was the gentleman who was bailing out his boat on the slipway, right in prime togging position. I gave him my best, ‘Can’t you see there is an ‘artiste’ at work here’ stare, but it merely raised a smile in response as he continued emptying his boat in the mist. The ripples you see in the foreground are from his bailing efforts and in hindsight probably add a bit of foreground interest. I quite like these misty harbour scenes, especially given the rarity of finding the mist, the tide and the sun all in sync. Ten minutes later, the gentleman’s dinghy was dry, the sea was devoid of ripples but the mist had all but burned off as well. Thanks as always for your interest and support.
