Photo of the day – The male Red-necked Tanager is one of the most easily identifiable members of this beautiful New World family, with no other tanager even coming close in visual comparison. Which, of course, is great for identification purposes, since with well over 100 tanager species and sometimes up to a dozen or more in a single mixed flock, it certainly makes us birders’ lives a whole lot easier!
