"Want to turn the secular tide? Stop complaining on social media and be a saint. Want to change the marriage culture? Bear witness in your own marriage. Modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than teachers. Holy marriages fuel a strong marriage culture. Commit right now to your spouse and to your kids that their vision of marriage will be shaped not by legislators, teachers, or activists but by YOUR marriage--by your heroic devotion, one-flesh union, and fidelity to that truth imprinted on your bodies and affirmed by God. The Supreme Court may sway the marriage culture with the swipe of a pen. But saintly spouses can move mountains. The tide will surge the other way only when we stop complaining about the state of marriage and instead live a better alternative." - Brandon Voight I think this is something we all need to hear with the recent legalization of same-sex marriage. I've seen a lot of arguments, but what we all need to remember that Christianity is all about love. As you all well know, just because we do not support the martial union of two people of the same gender, does not mean that we will not love those who do support it or are in one of those unions. Additionally, just because the US court has decided that same-sex marriages are acceptable does not mean that the Orthodox Church will bless these marriages. Marriage is the holy union between one man and one woman, and the Orthodox Church's stance on that will never change.

The Kingdom of God is not a fluffy pillow or a down mattress. It is found by the nun sleeping on a board, or the elderly woman suffering in her hospital bed. The Kingdom of Heaven is a spiritual condition that no earthly situation can overcome. The nun sings songs, and the afflicted woman offers pure prayers. They both go through hardships that draw them closer to Christ.
How do we attain the Kingdom of Heaven? Where is it to be found? It is very easy for us in the Western world to view this Kingdom as something that …Christianity
