Mr. Booker T. Washington

Washington was born into slavery and put himself through school and became a teacher after the Civil War. Looking for avenues to promote African Americans Booker T. Washington founded the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, which focused on training African Americans in agricultural pursuits. In this Storyboard, I follow Washington’s journey with a collection of articles that tell his story.
