In the 16th century, someone had to speak out on behalf of the Indigenous people and the slaves in the Americas. That, someone, was Fray Bartolome De Las Casas, a Dominican friar. Sickened by what he saw at the hands of the colonists, he petitioned the Spanish Crown to stop the abuses Europeans were inflicting upon the natives. He also called for the abolition of slavery. In this Storyboard, I share his tireless and unsuccessful pursuit to take on an empire.
