Remember when we told you that the National Motorcycle Museum was going to close this year? Well, D-Day is just around the corner, so if you want to see it, you’d better get there this week or next week.

Earlier this year, we told you that the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa had run into financial troubles, and unless things turned around, they were going to have to shut the place down. Unfortunately, the money situation did not improve, and museum leadership decided to close the operation on Labor Day, September 4. After that, many of the items and motorcycles at the museum are going up for sale.

The National Motorcycle Museum was founded by John Parham, the same man who started J&P Cycles. Parham’s moto and memorabilia collection formed a nucleus for the museum to build around. Now, his collection will go to the auction block September 6-9. You can see Mecum’s listing of the lots here.

There’s a lot of interesting stuff coming up for sale, ranging from V-twin cruisers from American history to little trailbikes to a replica of the 1885 Daimler Einspur. Show up at the auction, and who knows what you might walk away with.

But wouldn’t it be better to get there before it closes?
