The Danger the Delta Variant Poses in Fighting COVID-19

The coronavirus strain first identified in India threatens to prolong the pandemic and health experts are warning people to get vaccinated. The Delta variant is considered to be more transmissible than its Alpha cousin, which was first identified in the U.K. In the U.S., the Delta variant accounts for six percent of all COVID-19 infections and more than 60 percent in some parts of England. Dr. Fauci believes it could lead to severe disease and increased hospitalizations.
