There's nothing better than a good horror movie. But it's easy to get so distracted by the blood-and-guts or the psychological nightmares that you don't really take the time to analyze what might have been going on in the filmmaker's head. It's a horror movie, after all, not Shakespeare, so it's understandable. But fortunately, there's plenty of people on the internet who do exactly that sort of thing, and they've come up with some ideas that make some of our favorite horror movies even more horrific ... and some of our childhood favorites into horror movies.
Theories That Make Horror Movies Even More Freaky

Just watching a movie and enjoying it is so yesterday. These days, film appreciation is a much more participatory event in which you're encouraged to devise your own solutions to plot holes, your own interpretation of events and endings, and even your own theories concerning what you just watched. Fan theories have become commonplace, in fact, and some of these theories are brilliant fun (imagining James Bond as a regenerating Time Lord like Doctor Who to explain all the different actors who've played him, for example).
Horror movie remakes are a part of life. Nearly every major horror franchise has been rebooted or remade at least once, and some multiple times. Since horror is subjective and cheap to make, quality stuff can be difficult to find in the first place, so there's an excellent chance whatever remake comes out of the process will be trash.
The horror genre deals with all sorts of scary stuff, from ghosts and vampires to serial killers and psycho cults. But while there's a wide variety of monsters lurking about, all horror movies have thing one in common: They're all about death. Whether it's a straight-up slasher flick or a tad more psychological, the characters in horror movies are always worried about getting their heads chopped off or their souls sucked out. It's what keeps the scream queens screaming and the moviegoers going.
