I took this photo on Good Friday 2014, April 18th. It was my 4th visit at “The Wave”- a sandstone rock formation located in the United States of America near the Arizona-Utah border, on the slopes of the Coyote Buttes, in the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, on the Colorado Plateau (wikipedia). Only twenty people a day are allowed to hike to the Wave. A permit system gurantees this. In my previous visits I had more or less seen only a few other people on location. I was wondering if …

I took this photo in June 2012 within Yellowstone National Park, in Wyoming, United States. It shows the lower falls of the Yellowstone River seen from Artist’s point. It’s a spectacular natural phenomen that at around 10 am in the morning the sun creates a colorfol rainbow in the cloud of mist at the bottom of the falls. No surprise thus, that at that time of the day many photographers meet with their tripods at Artist’s point. The lower falls is 308 feet (94 m) high.

© Giuseppe Lupo 2012. Story behind the foto: It was early June 2012 when I visited first time Yellowstone N.P. I had read about this spectacle at the LeHardys Rapids. That it would be possible to see the native Cutthroat Trout leaping into the air, working their way up the rapids during their spawning run. Such things you normally see only on TV. So I was not really sure I will be lucky. I was on my tour in the southern part of YSNP and had planed a short stop at the LeHardys Rapids to look for …
