Britain's most unwanted cat who can't meow and is toothless has finally found her forever home

    SWNS • 1d

Britain's most unwanted cat who can't meow and is toothless has finally found her forever home in time for Xmas. Five-year-old Kato was handed into Cat's Protection three times in two years as staff failed to find her a loving home. But a range of health problems including an eye ulcer and rotten teeth put off potential owners. Now finally Kato has found a loving family who will love her regardless of her gummy grin and resting grumpy face, but since arriving she has now started to lose her fur due to a mystery skin condition. Kato's skin becomes so itchy she can make her face bleed from irritation, losing fur and skin across her face. Federica Pasari, Kato's newest owner, said insurers won't cover the expensive vet bills due to the 'preexisting condition'. Federica is now raising funds on a crowdfunding platform in the hope of giving Kato a comfortable life. She said: "Kato is very shy, she can’t meow but squeaks occasionally. Kato melts my heart with every day passing. "If you know us, you’ll know that I love my cats but Kato is just my soulmate. The most beautiful baby I could hope for. We were made for each other. "Unfortunately since moving in with us in January Kato seemed to have developed a skin condition. "When her condition flares up, Kato loses fur on her face and she scratches herself to the point of bleeding, at some point in the past her muscles were exposed due to it. "Though Kato is “just” a cat, she’s really my baby and I never want to see her suffering." Kato was first given into Cats Protection in a bad way from a "multi-cat household" in mid-lockdown of 2020. Kato had to have all her teeth removed due to decay after arriving at the Milton Keynes branch in Bedfordshire. She was then treated for a "mild digestive issue". After initially being rehomed she was then returned to the centre not once but twice more by two prospective owners after developing an eye ulcer and needing "patience and care". To treat the skin condition, Federica has already exhausted options including exclusion diets and steroids, and poor Kato is now in need of even more tests. Federica is aiming to fundraise £2,500 on GoFundMe to pay for new tests. Dermatologists suspect Kato may be allergic to something in her environment, which could be on top of a potential food allergy. The £1,515 raised so far through 60 donations has gone towards blood and skin testing which has confirmed potential environment allergens including pollen, mites, feather and wool. The special …
