20 Burger Recipes for the Summer
Here are a few of my favorite healthy burger recipes to jumpstart your summer or seasonal grilling. I enjoy finding ways to incorporate different ingredients to enhance bland burgers. I've also found ways to integrate other proteins and carbs to add plant-based meals and low-carb options to my diet. So, this board has a sandwich for everyone at the table.
Chicken Burgers
Here are a few ways I used chicken as the main source of protein for my burgers. Great low calorie alternatives that's high in protein and flavor. I even through in my Popeye's Reimaged Chicken Sandwich for some extra fun.
Seafood Inspired Burgers
Seafood burgers are the ultimate postwar meal. I've included salmon burgers, tuna burgers and even a shrimp burger will make you coming back for more! These recipes will make cooking at home even more fun!
TURKEY BURGERS
I’ve heard over the years that ground turkey can be pretty challenging to enjoy – it’s leanness is one of the reasons why it’s touted as a healthier animal protein, yet leanness is also one of the reasons people cite as it being too dry and unenjoyable. I tend to agree – if you overcook turkey in the slightest in burger form, it becomes incredibly dry.
BISON Burgers
If you gasped at the sight/thought of “bison” in the burger, don’t be alarmed! Bison (and wild game for that matter) is actually a quality animal protein that can do wonders for your health. Check out these keto friends. Note: Bison is higher in protein than chicken or beef AND it is packed full of iron, which also makes it a great choice for women.
