Photos Take Us Inside the Closets of Elizabeth Taylor, Frida Kahlo & Kurt Cobain

Late in life, Elizabeth Taylor gave Catherine Opie permission to explore and photograph her residence at 700 Nimes Road in Bel Air. Decades after Frida Kahlo's death, Ishiuchi Miyako was invited to document an astonishing array of more than three hundred objects from her personal collection. And Geoff Moore was commissioned by the Estate of Kurt Cobain to photograph the mementos left behind by the 27-year-old musician. Three icons, each remembered by the things they left behind.
